Alan Turing designed some of the earliest computers and was pivotal in the cracking of the Enigma code used by the German Navy. Tragically, his accomplishments were never fully recognised during his lifetime due to his homosexuality, then a crime in the UK. In 1952 he was prosecuted and accepted "chemical castration" treatment as an alternative to prison. It wasn’t until 2009 that British P.M. Gordon Brown officially apologised on behalf of the British government.

Are you a good code-breaker? There's a secret code buried in this tea towel – see if you can crack it…

Half Panama cotton (heavy weight, textured finish).
Stitched on all four sides. Measures approximately 48 x 73cm.
Machine wash at 40 degrees max.
We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes.
